Fermanagh Player Crowned 2008 North Fermanagh Darts
Champion
Local Fermanagh player and PDC member Brendan
Dolan from Belcoo collected the £300 first prize and became the first winner
of the new North Fermanagh Open Individual Darts Championship which took place
at the Kesh football & cricket club last Saturday 29th November
2008……
The tournament attracted a large turnout of top players from throughout the
province but it was Brendan who claimed his first North Fermanagh title with
a 6-4 victory over another PDC player Felix Mc Brearty in the final with a
dazzling display……

The final produced top action with both players recording over seven 180’s
between them as well as the high scoring and big checkouts which entertain
the large crowd that stayed on to watch this great match but it was Brendan
who produced the fire power at the vital times in the final and also in his
other matches throughout the day……..
On route to lifting the 2008 North Fermanagh Open Darts Championship title
Brendan defeated Darren Elliott (Castlederg, last-32, 4-0), Denise Cassidy
(Irvinestown, last-16, 4-1), Simon Collins (Strabane, ¼-finals, 4-1), Mickey
Mansell (Coalisland, semi-finals, 5-3), Felix Mc Breary (Dromore, final, 6-4)
to be crowned champion……

A brilliant performance from the Fermanagh man on winning this great event
and all of his fellow players wishes him all the best in trying to qualify
for the TV stages of the world championship in a few weeks times and also
to Felix who has already qualified for the TV stages which will be shown live
on Sky Sports…….
The highest finish of the tournament was also recorded from a Fermanagh man
Joe Deery from Belleek in his first round match against the runner-up Felix
Mc Brearty which was a impressive 126 checkout…….
