Felix McBrearty added another Tyrone championship title to his impressive
CV and picked up the £500 first prize for his efforts.
All roads led to the Village
Inn in Killyclogher outside Omagh for the grand-finals of the 5th
annual Tyrone Individual Darts Championship with players representing almost
every town throughout the Tyrone county in this prestigious local darts event
which seen the Dromore machine Felix McBrearty add another Tyrone championship
title to his impressive CV picking up the £500 first prize for his efforts
defeating Strabane's Darting Legend Danny McCallan in the final on a 6-2 score-line.

The Dromore player was in
fantastic form right from the start overcoming the challenge of player after
player, round after round hitting big scores and checking out on high finishes
along the way with one being a classic 161 checkout before he faced defeat
in the 1/4-finals against this years N. Ireland Open Runner-up Shane Pearson
(Cookstown) who missed three darts at double ten to knockout the Dromore machine
but up steps Felix to make it 4-4 before shooting out on a 119 checkout in
the deciding game to reach another semi-final on a 5-4 victory.

On route to Felix’s 3rd
tournament victory seen the Dromore player defeated Kevin Kilday (Stranbane,
4-0) in the last-64 with a impressive performance and then recorded further
wins over Jim Ward (Ballygawley, last-32, 4-0), Mark Summerville (Clogher,
last-16, 4-0), Shane Pearson (Cookstown, ¼-finals, 5-4), Aidey Patton (Strabane,
semi-finals, 5-2) and Strabane’s darting legend Danny McCallan in the final
to be crowned the 2008 Tyrone Individual Darts Champion and add his name to
the title for the third time in the five year history of the event which sees
these Tyrone darts championship going from strength to strength year after
year and that was proved with the largest entry to date with more or less
every town and village represented throughout the county.

This was a another great
achievement once again from the Dromore player and without doubt remains the
best darts player throughout Tyrone and further a field after the amazing
display he put in to record his third title from the biggest and strongest
field of Tyrone players ever in the history of these great championship.
The organisers would like
to take this opportunity to thank each and every player, all the venues who
staged the qualifiers throughout the year for making this event what it is
today and not forgetting a big thank-you to all the local Tyrone newspapers
for there support advertising this local and prestigious event.

for providing everyone with amazing venue for these Tyrone championship with
each and every player having very high praises for the beautiful venue.

must go to Dungannon's Stephen Mc Donagh who played outstanding darts to defeat
last years champion Mickey Mansell (Coalisland) on a 4-2 score-line and reached
the 1/4-finals at his first attempt.
